Teams purchase and trade players almost as if they are things, not people. Players are expected to generate revenue for the team, despite their often significant pay. Now, please don't misunderstand, I am a die-hard Yankees fan and I have been living vicariously through you for years. I would LOVE to see you become an overnight sucess that is years in the making. The Yankees are the most popular franchise on the planet. They don't have to market themselves the way the Pirates or Royals do. As such, I struggle with how one fan, even a super fan, can measurably affect their bottom line. That said, I would think that your best chance at success is to work with the local/national media somehow who DO have marketing competition or come up with a way to give the Yankees something only you can provide that will impact revenue. I hope you find success in whatever direction you go.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098486551299801340.post-17034139874070095062012-04-06T19:41:08.713-07:002012-04-06T19:41:08.713-07:00Agree with the fellow who said you need a publicis...Agree with the fellow who said you need a publicist, though they are expensive. Meantime forget the front office, they've shown their hand. What you should do is talk to the players! Swisher for sure would speak out for you, as I'm sure many of them would. I know you aren't on like a phone call basis, but drop them like an email or a twitter DM. If one of them would give some press to the issue, you might get more exposure and more business. For my part, I'll keep buying apparel, and when I'm in NYC and you need some photos, I'll be glad to give you a free shoot :D cheers, Vinny.David Fulerohttp://www.fulerophoto.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098486551299801340.post-72087256754302864982012-04-06T07:31:04.029-07:002012-04-06T07:31:04.029-07:00Hey - you can even start advertising on you blog I...Hey - you can even start advertising on you blog I do it on mine only a couple dollars generated on mine but you have lots more followers than me. I bought tickets to opening day for the first time ever this season. It cost me over $300 for 2 seats in section 203 but i just couldnt imagine sitting anywhere else. I've been sitting in 203 for 15-20 games per season for 5 years now including one game with my father, his first ever at the new stadium, which was one of the best times in my life. He's normally a fairly quiet and reserved guy and i told him before the game about the roll call and how it works and he seemed a bit timid about taking part. Well I'll be a monkeys uncle if he wasnt shouting just as loud as you!!!! I couldnt believe it. That day proved to me that you have a fire inside you. A way of spreading your excitement for the team you love. My father made me a fan of the Yankees and now my arms are covered in Yankees tattoos so I can confidently say I'm the biggest Yankees fan anywhere around here (I live in NH which is "red sox nation"). I believe you are a great fan of the Yankees also. Whether the Yankees see it or not doesnt really matter. You have fans (like myself) that will always follow you like you follow the Yankees.
